I’m Aimee, the face behind Captured by Jae, an award-winning photographer based in Daventry, capturing memories across Northamptonshire and beyond.

While I specialise in newborn and cake smash photography, my camera has taken me on so many incredible journeys. From football tournaments, to weddings, branding shoots, special events, and everything in between, I love telling stories through photographs and preserving moments that matter.

And no… my name isn’t Jae! I get that a lot. 😅

The name actually comes from my three children – Jude, Avarose and Ellis. When I created my business, I wanted it to be something personal. Something that truly meant something to me. Captured by Jae became exactly that; my fourth baby.

My photography journey first began in 2017. After building my business for several years, I stepped back to focus on my children when they needed me most. Then in 2023, I felt an undeniable pull back to the camera. I knew it was where I felt happiest, where I felt most like myself, and returning to photography has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

Since then, I’ve had the privilege of meeting the most incredible families, business owners, couples, and individuals. I’ve built genuine friendships, watched families grow, celebrated milestones, and captured memories that will be treasured for years to come.

Outside of photography, I’m a mum to three amazing children, partner to my biggest supporter, and dog mum to Luna, our beautiful family dog. Family is at the heart of everything I do, and it’s one of the reasons I understand just how important photographs become as the years pass by.

I still struggle with imposter syndrome at times, and I often find it hard to believe how much this little business has grown. From photographing families in my local area to being invited across the UK for sessions, every opportunity feels like a privilege. Being trusted to capture your memories is something I never take for granted.
